Affiliate disclosure

Transparent about future affiliate relationships.

SkillPath does not currently use affiliate links in its resource configuration. This page explains how they may be handled if they are added later.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a link that may allow SkillPath to earn a commission if a visitor makes a qualifying purchase or signs up through that link. The provider’s terms determine whether a commission applies.

How links will be disclosed

If an affiliate link is added, it should be clearly labelled near the resource and accompanied by a disclosure explaining that SkillPath may earn a commission at no extra cost to the visitor. Not every resource link will be an affiliate link.

Recommendations first

An affiliate relationship should not automatically determine whether a resource is recommended. Recommendations should remain useful, relevant, and appropriate for the intended beginner use case. See the Resource Standards for the factors SkillPath uses when evaluating resources.

Alternatives and choice

Where appropriate, SkillPath should consider free, lower-cost, and non-affiliate alternatives. Visitors should make their own decision after reviewing current pricing, terms, availability, and suitability.

No earning claims

Affiliate links do not mean that a resource will create income or produce a particular result for a visitor. SkillPath does not guarantee outcomes from any recommendation.
